NEW ADMINISTRATION & DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR
The Board of Directors recently appointed local Steamboat Springs resident, Tiana Buschmann, as the new Administration and Development Director for Emerald City Opera. She brings over 20 years of performing arts experience in Routt County. She looks forward to expanding her expertise into the Opera community. 
OPERA ARTIST INSTITUTE 2016 Update
We are proud to announce our Opera Artist Institute continues to develop and outstanding reputation throughout music schools nationwide. We are expecting over 25 young artists to arrive late July. They will have the opportunity to perform alongside world-renowned opera artists for an extraordinary opera immersion. 
ECO WELCOMES

Pamela Armstrong

Pamela will be joining ECO for our performance of Florencia en el Amazonas. She has performed with many of the world's leading opera companies.The audience will delight in her emotional delivery of this entangled love story.

FLORENCIA SYNOPSIS
Florencia en el Amazonas
encompasses elements of magical realism blended with a late romantic style. Set in the early 1900s aboard an Amazon steamboat, Florencia tells the story of a passage through the fabled rain forest. During this mystical voyage of discovery, each passenger harbors secret hopes of what the trip will bring. Among them, a famous prima donna hopes to recapture the great love of her life. Reality and fantasy intertwine as the dangerous splendors of the Amazon test the travelers' preconceptions of their hopes and dreams. Composer Daniel Catan's musical influences of Puccini and Debussy are heard, with themes drawn from Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez (whose works include "Love in the Time of Cholera").
