Hospital Provider Fee Quarterly Update

2015-16 Hospital Provider Fee

The October 2015 - September 2016 Hospital Provider Fee has been approved by the Oversight and Advisory Board and rules have been adopted by the Medical Services Board. We are awaiting federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) approval, which we anticipate receiving soon.

Following federal approval, we expect to reconcile to the final 2015-16 Hospital Provider Fee between July and September 2016.
  • Final 2015-16 Hospital Provider Fee letters will be sent via email on June 15, 2016. The letter will include details about all fee and payment calculations and will lay out the reconciliation process, including fees due and payments to be made between July and September.
  • We will hold a webinar on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 9:30 am to walk through the 2015-16 Hospital Provider Fee letters, explain the reconciliation process, and answer questions.
Data Aggregation for 2016-17 Hospital Provider Fee

Myers and Stauffer will upload a summary Individual Hospital Data Report to your COLTCO folder beginning June 13, 2016 and no later than July 5, 2016.  You will have seven (7) business days from the date of upload to review the report and respond to Myers and Stauffer with any questions.

Disproportionate Share Hospital (DSH) Audit

The DSH audit for State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2011-12 was filed with CMS in December 2015. Hospitals who were over their DSH limits and must return funds have either returned funds or made payment arrangements. On May 20, 2016 letters were sent to hospitals who were under their DSH limits and will receive redistributed DSH audit dollars.

The DSH audit for SFY 2012-13 is underway. Completed DSH audit surveys are due to Myers and Stauffer on June 30, 2016. The recorded SFY 2012-13 DSH audit webinar and slides are available on the Hospital Provider Fee page of the Department's website under 2013 DSH Audit Training Webinar and 2013 DSH Audit Training Presentation.
