Mark your calendars for Friday June 17 at the Assiniboine Golf club. As in past years this is destined to be the premiere golf event organized by your chamber.  New format this year to allow you time to get away for your weekend. Registrations are now open - organize your foursome or register individually, a great time will be had by all.

Budget 2016 

By the time this E-News is circulated we will have been presented with the new governments first budget and have had a chance to receive a presentation by the Minister of Finance.

• Increasing the Basic Personal Tax Exemption;
• Indexing Personal Income Tax Brackets;
• Committing to the 96/4 Funding Model for Tourism Investment;
• Developing an Access to Capital Strategy; and
• Undertaking a Value for Money Review of government spending.

Challenge 500! The adventure begins.

 The gauntlet has been dropped at this year's AGM. As President of the Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce I have challenged myself to increase the chamber membership to 500 within one year.

I expect to be able to report at the next AGM in May 2017 that we have achieved this goal. Of course this cannot be achieved without the help of you the membership. Your referrals and recommendations of fellow businesses who can benefit and achieve value in our organization are critical to achieving this target.

The Chamber E-News - Summer Editions

It's time to slow up the production of our weekly E-News, we will reduce the frequency over the summer period to a rotation of 3-4 weeks. We would appreciate any feedback on the E-News, what information would you like to see, perhaps more information on business happenings in our district?, activities and events taking place? Links to business information? You tell us and we will deliver. Is the weekly frequency too much?

We will always be doing separate event notices prior to them taking place, so plenty of reminders on our activities.
