News from NKBA Rocky Mountain Chapter
June 2016
Dear Members & Friends,

I am completing the term of Melody Highman, VP of Communications, starting with this newsletter.  Our best wishes to her as she moves on to adventures as a world traveler.  Thanks for your service Melody!

I retired as a Kitchen & Bath business owner exactly 4 years ago.  This capped a 28 year career in our industry.  I learned the business from my father, Paul Burkhart, who started attending meetings when the organization was AIKD.  We drove up from Pueblo monthly to attend the newly minted NKBA meetings when I joined his company in 1985.  I took every seminar and class that was offered in Colorado by NKBA.  During the years I was a project manager, designer, and business owner in Evergreen, I had no time to serve on the board.  I always attended the meetings since they were an important source of information and inspiration.  Now I have an opportunity to give back to NKBA, an organization that been an integral part of my well-loved career.

Please let me know about events and classes being held by industry partners as well as about design related contests and events.  I am really looking forward to finishing this term on the NKBA Executive committee and getting up to speed as your VP.

Janel Davenport
VP of Communications
