OK.  That may be a bit of an exaggeration.  However, thanks to the amazing team of Chris Fischer, Dennis Frahmann and Michele Sherman, Cambria Scarecrow Festival is proud to present Cambria Scarecrows the Movie!  Alright. Maybe it isn't really a movie but it is a very cool video all about the Cambria Scarecrow Festival.  And you can check it out right  here  .  Take a minute to view it out and share it with your friends.  Hopefully it will encourage visitors to come to see the scarecrows, inspire  more people to  create scarecrows and increase excitement about the 2016 Cambria Scarecrow Festival.
Members of the CSF board of the really wanted to make sure that 2016 marked the best year yet for the Scarecrow Festival.  So a survey was sent out to everyone on our mailing list asking what people liked about the event and what changes they would like to see.  There was a brainstorming session held with festival volunteers and a meeting was held with members of the business community.  And we listened.  So, in 2016, be prepared to see changes involving judging categories, the opening "ceremonies", the website and more.  Stay tuned for lots of exciting news in the weeks to come.

Question:  Professor Crow, do I need to make a new scarecrow every year?  What if I want to place the same scarecrow as last year or have one in storage that people haven't seen in a while.  Is it ok to bring back my old scarecrow?

Answer:   Of course you can bring back a scarecrow that participated in a previous festival.  Visitors often look for their favorite scarecrow from previous years and we love to have our old friends back.  However, just like you and I, sometimes a little sprucing up is needed before going out in public.  After all, you wouldn't want to run into people you know if you didn't brush your hair and put on some clean clothes, would you?The same holds true for your scarecrow.  Sometimes they just need a bit of spiffing up.  We all want our scarecrows to look their best for the camera after all!

What does being a Friend of the Cambria Scarecrow Festival mean?  It means that your business supports this yearly event.  There are a number of levels and each level comes with benefits.  All levels include postings about your business on our very popular Facebook page, on our website and in monthly newsletters.  And it also means that we will not ask you for any donations, raffle items, etc. all year!  For more information about our Friends program click here.

The following businesses have shown their support of the Cambria Scarecrow Festival by become Friends of the Cambria Scarecrow Festival.  Without support such as this, we would not be able to put this event on each year and we absolutely would not be able to keep making it better and better.

A special thank you to Ball & Skein and Cambria Chamber of Commerce for joining our growing list of Friends.
Please support these local businesses that have been so supportive of the festival.
Through the creation and annual public display of scarecrows, the Cambria Scarecrow Festival, Inc. provides a sustainable, inclusive, collaborative set of programs to encourage artistic creativity and visibility to the communities of Cambria and San Simeon.
