The Spirit of York County is awarded to an individual who represents a commitment to helping others and making new connections that bring us closer together as families, neighbors and as a community.
Our recipient does this not only through the United Way, but his many volunteer activities in our community. When we think of giving, we think of Allan Miller.
On May 14th York County came together by gathering extra canned and non-perishable food items for local postal carriers to pick up. Families in our community placed food items by their mailbox on this day in order for them to be picked up and delivered to local food pantries, including: Pilgrims' Inn, Project Hope, The Salvation Army, Dorothy Day Soup Kitchen, Love N Cherish, Fort Mill Care Center, PATH in York, and Clover Area Assistance Center.
