HPV: Don't Wait. Vaccinate! Project
The Indiana Immunization Coalition is sponsoring a new Part 4 Quality Improvement MOC Project for Indiana pediatricians entitled HPV: Don't Wait. Vaccinate!

An MOC is Maintenance of Certification designed by the American Board of Medical Specialities as a way to ensure a continuous cycle of lifelong learning for a physician's professional development.

A Part 4 Quality Improvement project is a diverse requirement which recognizes the efforts of pediatricians who imbed quality improvement into their day-to day practice of medicine.

Pediatricians who complete this project will be awarded 25 Part 4
points toward their MOC.

Sound Medicine Radio Interview with Dr. Aaron Ermel - Kirk and Brenda Forbes
Earlier this month, Dr. Aaron Ermel, who's with the Center for HPV Research at the IU School of Medicine, as well as Kirk and Brenda Forbes, the parents of Kristen Forbes, were interviewed on Sound Medicine Radio regarding a new study.

First, the interview discusses the research study with Dr. Ermel. This particular study has found that the HPV vaccine protects those individuals who receive the immunization from the Human Papillomavirus for at least eight years.

In addition, Kirk and Brenda were interviewed regarding the Kristen Forbes EVE Foundation, and the work they are doing to shed more light on the HPV vaccine.

Learn more about this study and hear the entire interview.
New Resource Materials Available from IIC
Due to such positive feedback from the current Tdap postcards, IIC has taken suggestions to produce a postcard that expectant mothers can address and mail themselves to friends and family members to remind them of all the vaccines that they may need to welcome in a new baby.

In addition, we now have an additional Tdap postcard targeted to adult (317) providers to reach individuals who may be able to receive the adult Tdap vaccine free-of-charge.

To preview these resources, please CLICK HERE

If you are interested in receiving some of one or both of these postcards, please email our Executive Director, Lisa Robertson, or Assistant, Emily Sirk, and we will get those to you as soon as we can.
New Influenza Billboards Available from IIC
Thanks to the work of our graphic artist, Stephanie Johnson, we now have billboard designs targeting influenza available to any local health department who wishes to purchase space to display them.

To view these new billboard designs, please CLICK HERE

If you are interested, please take the specific billboard layout(s) you would like to display to the billboard company you are working with, and they will assist you with that side of the process
