Air Traffic Control Association

A Message from Candidate Charles Keegan

Dear fellow ATCA members,

My involvement in aviation spans more than 35 years, even longer if you start the clock with a middle school trip that set my sights on becoming an air traffic controller. I have been a proud member of the ATCA community for much of that time, devoting the last five years to serving on the board as a Director-at-Large. During that time, I focused on helping ATCA achieve financial stability - not an easy task given the world's economic situation. I am proud to say that ATCA is doing extremely well financially.

I now want to turn my attention to building on ATCA's historic foundation to promote greater advocacy for the many professions and organizations that make air traffic control possible and the key to the way goods and people move around the world.

Every day, the men and women who contribute to the field of air traffic control and to ATCA are adding to an incredibly rich history. I want this legacy to be known, understood, and used to guide us in planning for, and focusing on, the future. As in the past, we must convincingly make the case that advances in air traffic control (both the science and people) will lead the way to a more efficient and economical global air transportation system.

I am as excited about our future as I was captivated during that momentous middle school trip.

I ask that you consider voting for me as Chair-Elect of the Air Traffic Control Association. It would be a great honor to serve you and to continue the great progress we have made together.

Thank you,

Charles Keegan
