Industry Spotlight on Retail and Wholesale Trade and Health Care and Social Assistance

ecstatic-shopping-bags.jpg The release of Workforce Planning Hamilton's 2014 Labour Market Plan is approaching on October 14, 2014. Every week leading up to the Labour Market Plan, WPH will be releasing two industry profiles of Hamilton's top ten industries of employment. 

These profiles use the most current information available from the 2011 National Household Survey and are a great source of information including sector employment, business counts, educational requirements, the top occupations by industry, and advice from sector employers to job seekers.

Latest Statistics Canada figures show Hamilton has seen strong growth in the number of full-time jobs

The Labour Force Survey for August shows 391,000 people employed in the Hamilton CMA (includes Burlington and Grimsby), up 5.4% from August of last year. The increase in employment was for full-time work and the unemployment rate now sits at 7.1%.
