Centre Stage fundraiser This
Saturday, Oct 11th
Goodwill Junk Drive 9am-2pm

Hello Centre Stage Families,

Centre Stage will be participating in Monrovia's "Make A Difference Day", Saturday October 11, 2014 by running a "JUNK DRIVE" along with the Goodwill of Los Angeles. Families are asked to collect un-needed household items, clothing, toys, etc. and bring them to:

 Monrovia Presbyterian Church

101 E. Foothill Blvd in Monrovia

Sat, October 11th between the hours

of 9am-2pm
All donations are tax-deductible. By participating in this event, Centre Stage is able to fundraise for it's upcoming performance year. We ask each family to participate by setting a goal of bags of items you may be able to collect from your home, neighbors, families, church groups, businesses, etc. This fundraiser helps continue the amazing work of the Goodwill along with having your child participating in giving back to their community while fundraising for their favorite place to be... Centre Stage!

Here is some important info in order for our event to be successful. What we need:

*    Our event will be raising funds for the 2015 Centre Stage Season and the vocal programs and the upcoming "Christmas Lights Recital". Our program tuition only covers a small cost of theaterical rights, costumes for main stage musicals, and technical needs. To continue to keep our tuition costs low we need a great outpouring of support.

We estimate we need to raise $30,000 throughout the year to maintain the professional level that our families have come to love and enjoy. We plan to raise the funds through the "Junk Drive", "15 Year Anniversary Cabaret, dinners out, program ADS, Pancakes & Popstars and Sponsorships. Corporate sponsorships are so essential to any theater program, but virtually impossible to obtain.

Bins are 3' wide, 4' across and 6' high. Every bin that is filled completelywill earn us $50 towards our goal. 60 bins is   $3,000.00. 35 bags of clothing approx. will fill one bin. So dig deep into those closets!

*** We also need adults and our CP & VE students to participate that day unloading cars, and holding signs on the streets. We need voulunteers from 8:30am-2:30pm. Email me with your availability.

Get Going!

*          Pre-collecting donations is essential for a successful drive. We need each family to make a conscious effort to talk to family and friends to help us raise $3,000 on that day. I know this can be an inconvenience to store extra items in your garage, driveway, or home for a week, BUT this is a way for each family to not have to sell something to your friends and family to raise funds. Many of us are already doing that for our child's school. If you have items and are not able to store them, please contact Keely to arrange a time for her to pick them up.

Break it down: give every member a goal to reach - and hopefully exceed! If all 60 families involved in Mrs. Keely's Voice Classes each collected 35 bags, we could almost reach our goal. As you can see we need some families to go above and beyond! Some suggestions from the Goodwill are: going to garage sales and taking all the leftover items that didn't sell, cleaning out your garage and asking family and friends to do the same, going to work and asking that your co-workers partner with you for make a difference day and bring in items to you, or to the church on October 11th. I'm sure there could be many more ideas! It will take a little effort, but we can "Make A Difference" in the lives of the people who will receive our items and in the lives of our children at Centre Stage.
