Christian Leaders              Academic Achievers           Responsible Citizens
Dear St. John the Baptist Families,

Congratulations to our 2nd Grade children who received the sacrament of First Holy Communion this past Saturday.  The children were filled with grace and prayer as they received Jesus into their lives and the entire community is so very proud of their accomplishments.   A BIG thank you to Fr. Thuong, Ms. Taylor, Ms. Beba and Mrs. Lynne Castro for all of their hard work and dedication in preparing the children for this special day.

Congratulations are also in order for Ms. Seele and the Seele Stars for a job well done on their play performances of " Into the Wood s" this past weekend .   All of their stars were shining brightly as they performed and we couldn't be prouder of Ms. Seele and her students for making the theater arts come alive in our community - it was truly a joy to watch!  We also thank the parents who helped with set design, setup, costume, makeup and cleanup - your hard work was evident!

Request for Prayers:  We pray for those who are battling illness, those who are hungry and homeless, those who are unemployed and for those who are  suffering loss.

Blessings for a Wonderful Week!

Fr. Thuong's Jubilee Celebration is THIS SUNDAY!
We will celebrate the silver jubilee of the ordination of our pastor, Fr. Thuong Hoai Nguyen, on the third weekend of May.

At the 12:30 p.m. Mass on Sunday, May 22, we will have a special liturgy.  This will be a opportunity for Fr. Thuong to share his ministry with the entire parish.
After the Mass, our Parish Council will host a reception with a light lunch in the gym, where all St. John's parishioners can come and celebrate.

Preschool Needs Your Donations for PPP Hours
Our preschool program will frequently be using the courtyard area between the church and school as a play area and we would love to create a special space for our littlest community members.  We are requesting "gently used" play equipment that would be appropriate for 3-5 year olds.   Might you have an item in your home that your family has outgrown? PPP Hours will be given for donations of play items such as:
Picnic Table
Play Kitchen
Sand Box
Play Kitchen Utensils
Soft Play Mats
Dress Up Clothing/Costumes
Toy Cars
Water Table
Various Theme Books
