Well it's October 9 and our first day with no guests since June 10. We're not sure whether to jump for joy or be concerned? With the last of our kids also leaving today, it's a bitter sweet time. Charlie has returned to Bali (tough life!), Ollie spent a week with us after teaching in Thailand, flies out to Aussie in two weeks, and Beth has settled in well at Amherst. Aimee and Jonathan have both spent times here and again we thank them for a morning off in August where they cooked and served breakfast to a full house - way to go guys!
We have loved summer, although, Jo continues to worry about her breakfasts!
I digress, it's really just a short break, new guests arrive tomorrow and we're almost full this weekend (we do have The Barn free if you fancy a short last minute break!!!).
With so much happening in October and November, there's still is something for everyone on the Cape.

A favorite of ours and where we can now let Ziggy off his leash. On the bayside just along from Rock Harbor in Eastham. Beautiful at high and low tides. |
Trivia answered
Perhps an easy one this month, bangers common to the UK and Ireland. They are often an essential part of pub food. The name comes from the sausage's tendency toward bursting or "banging" open during high frying temperatures. To avoid the bursting you would prick the banger with a fork before cooking.
