Our Fall town meeting will be held on November 16th at at 7:00 pm in the Douglas High School auditorium on 33 Davis Street. Details on the meeting and what will be discussed can be found here. While Fall meetings are perceived by many as less exciting than those in the Spring, they are still an important part of our town's governance and very informative. Everyone's attendance is encouraged and greatly appreciated. In the words of George Bernard Shaw, "Democracy is a device that insures we shall be governed no better than we deserve."

As many of your may have heard, the Strategic Budget Committee has been doing a lot of work and research recently. As you also may have heard, the town of Douglas is facing some impending budgetary crises of a fairly alarming magnitude. If you missed the public presentation, it can be viewed here. It is more important now than ever that townspeople become involved in the processes that steer the flow of resources, time, and attention. Every board and committee has the best interests of Douglas in mind. Their meetings are open to the public, and the schedules of those meetings as well as videos of ones past can be accessed here. Get involved today. The numbers may be intimidating, but we can fix this if we all work together as a community.
