In Memory of Vanessa L Rush, A Champion for Community Action

The Village is pleased to announce its first recipient of the Vanessa L. Rush Scholarship, Endale Tefay. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Thanks to all the family, friends and community action network members for supporting the establishment of this scholarship which celebrates Vanessa L Rush's commitment to advocacy for microenterprise development, family housing, financial sustainability, civic engagement, community empowerment and leadership development. 
Ms. Rush served as a member of several nonprofit boards and committees. She retired from    Partnership for Community Action  in 2011, and, until her passing, she served as the RPIC IV-A Project Specialist.  She positively influenced 1,000s of individuals, families and communities. To honor and celebrate her life, the Village Community Development Corporation, where she served as the board chair, established the Vanessa Lee Rush Memorial Scholarship through Georgia Piedmont Technical College (GPTC); 100% of  donations will be granted to scholarship recipients.
