Be a Children's Future Champion!

We want to pay special recognition to some amazing donors who have gone above and beyond to support Children's Future.

Sarah, a Board Member, asked her friends to donate to Children's Future for her birthday. After reaching $500 goal, Sarah completed her Birthday Challenge by paddling out in a freezing lake and jumping in! Thanks, we hope it was a hot day!

Denny, also a Board Member, raised over $3,000 by riding his bike across Iowa. Check out his campaign here! Thanks Denny, we know it was a feat!

Hannah and Betsy ran a lemonade stand as part of a fair in the Highlands of Denver with all of the $250 of proceeds going to Children's Future. Thanks Hannah and Betsy, you are young and compassionate leaders!

Katherine and Pat in Washington D.C. had a moving sale to benefit Children's Future. They raised over $1,200 to support our programs. Thank you for thinking of us!

Have you done something special to show your support? Please contact us to be featured in next month's newsletter!

Children's Future Healthcare Facility

The new Healthcare Facility has space for private patient care, healthcare staff, medical supplies, and quality services for our 230 students.

A major transition has taken place at Children's Future. For several years the only space for healthcare staff to see students and their families was a cramped hallway inside the Learning Center. Today the doors are now open to Children's Future's very own healthcare facility. Children's Future is grateful to BASAID, a foundation in Switzerland that made this dream possible through their financial generosity.

The new healthcare facility includes a visitation area with a large enough space for medical files, supplies, and patient privacy. Nearby, a small gazebo has been constructed to allow for communal use for trainings, meditation, and additional patient waiting space. Last year, Children's Future healthcare staff treated more than 550 health issues, including respiratory infections, wounds, gastrointestinal issues, vision, dental, and more. With a formal healthcare facility, Children's Future anticipates much higher numbers as we move forward.

Fun Season at the Learning Center

As students all over Cambodia have a summer break, Children's Future students head to the Learning Center in droves. Every day the Learning Center is filled with smiling and laughing students who are excited to spend their break learning and having fun with their peers. Fun Season, as school break is referred to at Children's Future, is the highlight of the year for many students and staff alike.

Outside at the Learning Center students partake in a game of soccer with their peers while others are inside learning about movement and their bodies in a yoga class. Everyone gets their turn on the Learning Center's iPads and computers, eager to improve their technology skills and practice math problems using fun, interactive games. Creative students get a chance to be involved in a performance, sing songs, and partake in art therapy. The library is continually filled with students reading and listening to captivating stories being read aloud in English and Khmer.

With many hardships at home, Fun Season is an important source of fun, freedom, and learning for students who would otherwise be at home or working during school break. As Fun Season comes to a close and the new school year approaches, students and staff begin to get ready for another year of learning. We hope that everyone will carry the joy and laughter of Fun Season with them until next year.

The desks are pushed aside to allow creativity to blossom.
