Quite a few Santas asked for a repeat of this newsletter because of the new convention packages.  If you know of someone that might want to know, please pass on a copy of this newsletter.

*******************

A team of twelve Santas and Mrs,. Claus visited Branson last week in the final preparations for DS2016.  A lot of details were locked down and some new things were discussed.

One area discussed was a result of calls and emails from Santas, and Mrs. Claus, asking if they could come to the convention for just one day.  Or maybe only to visit the Kriingle Family Showcase or attend a couple workshops.

Some told us they were not interested in the shows and meals and also had their own lodging.

The result is a new menu of single items you can register for and some packages for just the weekend events, or just the events without the meals and shows,  Check it out below and on the web site.

And this week I wrap up my little disertation on Discover Santa 2016 and what we hope to accomplish.

As always, please feel free to email me with any questions, suggestions comments and even complaints.  We can't always fix or change things, but we do need to know both the good and the not-so-good.

Santacerely,

Santa Tim Connaghan
General Chairman

ONE-DAY & WEEKEND PACKAGES NOW AVAILABLE!

We listened to you!  Some of you live locally, or only have one day or a weekend to attend the convention.  I have heard that a few want to drive in for a day just to visit the vendor showcase.

So we have sharpened our pencils and created some economical packages for those who can only visit one or two days, who don't want to attend the meals or dinner shows, or just want to attend the workshops and vendor showcase.

We still have the wonderful packages at our four hotels, but these new packages are the bare bones, with no hotels and in some cases, no meals.
  • Our base package, #5, General Registration is only $377, and does not include any hotel or breakfasts. but included everything else plus the Dixie Stampede, Gala Dinner, all workshops, and access to the vendor showcase, parade and SNO-lympics. This is for those attending the convention who live locally, have other accommodations at a time share, etc., or are bringing their RV.
  • Package #6 is our reduced registration package @ $250.00. It is only for attending the opening session, closing session, parade, workshops and the vendor showcase, plus shuttle and parking.  It does not include any lunches, the gala reception, the gala dinner, sponsor amenities, or tickets to the Dixie Stampede Dinner and Show.
Then we started to break down the events into a menu from which you can pick and choose.  This is great if you are only visiting for one or two days:
  • Two Workshops - Friday, July 8 - $40
  • Four Workshops - Saturday, July 9 -  $75
  • 6 Workshops (nothing else) - Two, Friday Afternoon, July 8 and Four, Saturday, July 9 -  $99
  • Red Suit Gala - Reception, Fashion Show & Dinner - $60
  • Four Saturday Workshops and Gala Dinner, July 9 - $129  - w/ lunch $151
  • Friday and Saturday Workshops and Gala Dinner $149 - w/ lunches $ 199.
  • Saturday and Sunday Only, with Saturday Workshops and Lunch, Gala Reception & Dinner, plus Closing Ceremonies $179.00

Or you can create your own agenda with the items above and the following single items:

  • Closing Session  -  Hall of Fame Ceremonies  $20
  • Saturday Lunch   $22
  • Dixie Stampede  $57
  • Barbeque  $27
  • SIX Show    $35
And finally, for those who wish to just visit the Kringle Family Showcase for some shopping, or maybe wanting to meet with one of the major photo companies, we are arranging for special one-day tickets that will allow full access to the showroom. (These admissions will be only for limited day time hours and will not allow access to workshops, meals, or other closed or private events.)

For more details on these and other events, please visit our web site: www.DiscoverSanta2016.com  or call Taunya at Branson Ticket and Travel (800) 432-4202

WHY IS DISCOVER  SANTA 2016 DIFFERENT?  - PART III

WHAT WE HOPE TO ACCOMPLISH

The previous two news letters outlined how the first Discover Santa Convention was created and what that event, in 2006, accomplished.  I also continued with some details that led to creating the new 2016 convention.

We have already accomplished many small tasks and goals in creating this new convention.  I wanted a well structured convention, one that would be well organized, and offer many activities and opportunities for all who attend.  That has been accomplished.

We hoped it would be the largest gathering ever and we have done so with almost 1,000 Santas, Mrs, Claus and vendors attending our Branson Party.  This includes attendees from Europe, Asia, South America and even Dubai!

We have brought together a fantastic committee of chairpersons and volunteers from all over America who are all contributing to making this week a spectacular time for all who attend.  Without their input, suggestions, experience and contributions, this convention would not be possible.

We have also built in some surprise for everyone who attends.  We hope these surprises will be something you enjoy and will cherish for ever!

In closing, we hope we have been hearing you and listening to what you are saying and what you are asking for. That is why we have the new packages and menu pricing for some of the events.

Without the input and comments of many, we cannot tailor this convention to meet the needs of the Santa community.  I may have my ideas on what we should do, but sometimes I need a 'DiNozzo," (a slap up the back of my head), to remind me that I have to look at a bigger picture.  My wife is good to remind me, "Not everything is about you!"

Things are now moving very fast.  You won't want to miss any of the coming newsletters with l ots of special details and announcements.

And in the next few weeks we will be announcing a few new Silver sponsors a new Gold Sponso r and two National Sponsors.  Plus we have some more exciting details on the many events at the convention.   And believe me you are really going to get up "high" when you hear about one of them.  REALLY UP HIGH!

It's time to get excited.  DS2016 is just 50 days away!
