The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce
Celebrates Accomplishments and Presents Awards
at the 154th Annual Meeting

     

The Greater Macon Chamber of Commerce and the Macon Economic Development Commission hosted their 154th Annual Meeting on Thursday, December 4th at Middle Georgia State College. With this  year's theme being "Macon - The Best Place For Business", attendees were presented a recap of economic  development success for 2014 and cumulatively for the past ten years. In addition, accomplishments of the 2014 Board of Directors were highlighted and celebrated and outgoing Board members were recognized and thanked for their service. 

          

During the meeting, the following business and community leaders were presented with awards to honor their extraordinary service during 2014: 
                

      Citizen of the Year Award:          Mike Ford
 
     Robert F. Hatcher Award:            Dr. Steve Smith
 
     Chamber Chairman's Award:      Leonard Bevill
 
     Ambassador of the Year Award:     D. Elaine Smith
 
     MEDC Champion Award :            Central Georgia Technical College
 
     Regional Advocate Award:          In memoriam:
                                                                Lt. Col. Walter "Randy" Randall, Jr., USAF (Ret)

 

Before concluding the meeting, Jason Delves, 2014 Board Chair passed the gavel to incoming 2015 Board Chair Dan Slagle.

The 154th Annual Meeting was held at Macon State College and was presented by Cox Communications.
