Summer Grant Applications Due June 15
The Greater Cedar Rapids Community Foundation announces the summer grant cycle for local charitable nonprofits. Applications will be accepted through Wednesday, June 15, 2016, and grants will be awarded to organizations that enhance the quality of life in Linn County. For more information, click here.

Veridian Credit Union Fund Grant Applications Due July 15
The 2016 Veridian Credit Union Fund, in support of Veridian's Financial Literacy and Inclusive Community programs, is now accepting applications. Grants up to $5,000 will be awarded in the areas of Financial Literacy and Inclusive Community. Does your organization have no website, a website that needs some love, and/or need help with digital marketing? Apply for Operation Overnight. Geonetric gives back to Linn County nonprofits through Operation Overnight, a 24-hour event to strategize, code, design, and write websites that help organizations fulfill their missions. Financial Management and Oversight for Nonprofit Organizations

This course is designed to help nonprofit management leaders manage financial, legal, and compliance risk through improved financial management and oversight. Excellence in financial management requires well designed financial statements that inform management and boards of directors, help them monitor risks and prepare budgets. Well-designed financial statements should also generate data used for audits, regulatory purposes, Form 990, and for grant and contract reporting. The course will provide the criteria for when an organization should consider an annual audit, and cover basic accounting methods used by nonprofits.
