I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend as we pause to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Kids are out of school & summer is underway! Our Farmers Market will open this Saturday, June 4 & will kickoff with a 5K race. Hours will be 8 a.m. to 12 noon. Space is still available for vendors; if interested please contact the Chamber at (706) 597-1000.
Freedom Blast is back on the calendar for Friday, July 1st beginning at 7 p.m. We'll have a fireworks show at the Thomson-McDuffie Government Complex front lawn with numerous vendors & activities for the kids.
The Chamber, along with Shaw Industries, would also like to recognize the "Patriots of McDuffie County" during the Freedom Blast. These are heroes that represent everything our Founding Fathers fought for during the Revolutionary War. This includes all Military branches, Fire Fighters, Emergency Medical Services and Police Department. Freedom Blast is a time to celebrate our Independence, but also recognize those that put their lives in danger to protect our freedom.
Please contact the Chamber of Commerce to register to attend so we can give special recognition to those individuals.
