Greetings all! We're in the final few months of the year (where did the time go?), but we're not slowing down. WTS still has some great programs and events ready to go before the year is over.
Transportation YOU, the mentoring program for middle- and high-school aged girls, has started back up for the school year. The first day of the Fall Business Forum was a great success, and we have a second day planned in October focused on marketing and proposal development. Finally, we'll be putting on a FREE membership event at the NC Museum of Art next month.

Upcoming for October
Engineering Success Business Forum
 The second part of a two-part series on business growth sponsored by WTS NC Triangle Chapter will be held on Oct. 7. The three-hour forum, "Setting up Your Company for Growth," will feature a panel discussion on networking, creating a project-winning team, where to look for advertised work, and effective proposal writing. The experts on the panel will also discuss branding, social media, marketing strategies and marketing budgets. Participants can earn up to 3 PDH credits for attending. WTS Night at the NC Museum of Art
The chapter is sponsoring a free membership event at the NC Museum of Art in Raleigh. Attendees can wander the galleries, enjoy live music and socialize with others in the industry. WTS members will be available to answer questions about the organization or just to chat. The chapter will award door prizes, and provide hors d'oeurvre and drinks. This event is open to everyone. Winery Tour and Networking Event
WTS NC Triangle Chapter will join other WTS chapters, including Charlotte-Metro and future Western Carolina-Asheville, for a Yadkin Valley winery tour on Oct. 18. It'll be a great chance to meet other transportation professionals from around the state. For more details, an itinerary and registration, click here.

WTS NC Triangle Chapter is accepting applications for scholarship awards for the 2014-15 school year. These will be awarded to young women who are pursuing or planning to pursue study in a transportation-related field. The scholarships are available to high school and community college students, as well as undergraduate and graduate college students. Applications will be forwarded to the international WTS organization; however, the NC Triangle Chapter may award scholarship funds to local applicants. Transportation YOU
The chapter held the first Transportation YOU event for the 2014-15 school year last week with a focus on creative and artistic roles in transportation-related fields. Transportation YOU is a mentoring program for middle-school and high-school aged girls interested in science, technology, engineering, "ART" and math (STEAM) fields. Amy Skelding with AECOM spoke about transportation-related careers in communication and marketing.
