David Schumacher, a Member in the Bailey & Wyant Charleston Office, gave a special presentation, entitled "Limiting Malpractice: Being prepared for and living in the moment of care."
Mr. Schumacher spoke to students at the Palmer School of Chiropractic in Port Orange, Florida on Friday, May, 6, 2016, and provided insight as to the various office practices, procedures, staff selection and training, "table-side" manner, as well as social media issues and HIPPA/confidentiality iss ues, electronic record protection and issues, including the necessity and guidelines for documentation of all aspects of their care and practice- all directed towards limiting their exposure to malpractice claims and to providing the highest level of care possible to their patient's. The presentation closed with a primer on malpractice coverage and the present trends in malpractice claims.

Jordan Herrick participated in the MDA Lock-Up May 25. The MDA Lock-Up is a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association, where the jailbird has to raise money to "make their bail."



We had our first office chili cook-off this month. The winning chili will be served at the Smoke on the Water Chili Cook-Off June 18. We have so many wonderful chefs at our firm, it was a tough decision. Everyone had a great time being a judge.

ATTORNEY PROFILE
Jennifer E. Tully is an Associate at the Charleston office of Bailey & Wyant, PLLC.

In 2003, she obtained her law degree from West Virginia University College of Law. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Business and Accounting from Emory & Henry College in Emory, Va. in 2000.

Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer was In House, General Counsel and Director of Human Resources for Employer's Innovative Network. Jennifer was a litigation attorney with Pullin, Fowler, Flanagan, Brown & Poe, PLLC for 10 years, where she concentrated on the areas of civil rights defense, employment law and education law. 
Prior to that, she was a law clerk from the Honorable Circuit Judge Charles M. Vickers in Fayetteville, WV. Jennifer has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star for 2014 and 2015.

Jennifer is also admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia, and the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia.
