As part of the Blount Partnership's workforce development initiative, it partnered with Pellissippi State to host Blount County Schools Teacher's Professional Development Day on July 24. Twenty-two Blount County Schools teachers and two administrators received first-hand knowledge about what skill sets local manufacturers like DENSO and Newell Rubbermaid are looking for when hiring employees. If so, you'll want to take part in the Vacation Races half marathon set for Sept. 20. The course runs from Heritage High School in the Hubbard Community outside Maryville and ends in Townsend.
