United Lens Company is celebrating 100 years in the optics industry! Founded in 1916 by Fileno DiGregorio as a modest single-furnace operation, ULC has grown to become the only truly vertically integrated company in the optical industry, offering the latest technologies and highest quality optical components.
All of us at OptiPro would like to congratulate United Lens Company on their 100th anniversary! We are greatly appreciative for the opportunity to work with ULC in their ongoing commitment of serving the optics industry with quality, value, and integrity.
Here's to 100 more years and beyond!
Nine Students Graduate from the
Spring 2016 OptiPro U Class!
OptiPro U Spring 2016
OptiPro recently had nine students graduate from our most recent OptiPro U class on CNC Advanced Optical Manufacturing 101. The Spring Session, which took place May 2nd to 6th, comprised of optics industry professionals with experience ranging from beginner to advanced. Companies from across the U.S. gathered at our recently-enhanced facility, with lecture taking place in our new second floor meeting room for the first time!
Lecture material consisted of topics on latest processes, machinery, and tools for manufacturing optical components. Students applied what they learned in lecture in our Advanced Process Development (APD) lab, receiving hands-on experience grinding and polishing spheres and aspheres on the PRO 80 GTS, PRO 160 GTS, PRO 80 UFF, and UFF 300. In-process and final metrology was performed on OptiPro's PRO Tower Vertical Interferometer and OptiTrace 5000 Surface Profilometer.
