About the Camp
4-H Summer Camp Timpoochee | July 11-15
This is a week-long residential camp where 4-Her's will spend the night at 4-H Summer Camp Timpoochee in Niceville, Florida. The campgrounds are on Choctawhatchee Bay and the facilities include cabins for their stay, a cafeteria, auditorium, and multiple classrooms for camp activities. Activities consist of things such as fishing, archery, outdoor skills, air rifles, marine explorations, science, and plenty of fun games. This is the full summer camp experience. Cost for the week for camp counselors is $100 and includes travel to and from Niceville. Camp counselors will receive 100 hours of community service for their week of service.

Counselor Description
Counselors are assigned one cabin with a counselor in training and up to ten campers of the same age group to look after and be responsible for during the week of camp. The counselor aids in the general program and the guidance of campers. They listen, suggest, and guide campers to help each individual become part of the group, adjust to the various camp activities, and learn to live with the other campers for the week. Our counselors are very important for the camping program and are trained for their positions.

About Santa Rosa County 4-H
4-H is the non-formal educational youth development program of the University of Florida's Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences (IFAS) and the Florida Extension Service. 4-H is the nation's largest youth development program, annually reaching approximately 6.5 million young people, and the only one university based. The purpose of 4-H is to help youth become productive members of society. The educational programs help youth develop inquiring minds, learn practical skills, strengthen decision making abilities, develop youth-adult partnerships, improve communications and interpersonal relationships, and ultimately share their skills and experience in leadership roles. Through hands-on, learn-by-doing activities, youth establish real-life goals and develop important life skills.
