Message from Ashana

Sat Nam Global Sadhana Family,

"Beyond the body, beyond the sun and stars, past everything you see and yet somehow familiar, is an arc of golden light that stretches as you look into a great and shining circle.... What is a miracle but this remembering? And who is there in whom this memory lies not? The light in one awakens it in all. And when you see it in your brother, you are remembering for everyone. "

-          A Course In Miracles

Inside this meditation, we sit in a great and shining circle. No longer separate or alone, isolated or silent, we take our place within the vast wholeness of love that extends generationally throughout our family lines, throughout the lineage of our soul's experience. We send gratitude, shower grace, offer benedictions of healing and prayer to our parents, our grandparents, our aunts, uncles and cousins, near and far. We see them whole. Healed. Infused with light. Shining. Luminous. Happy. Peaceful. We see them in the fullness of their magnificence. We pause for a moment in our busy lives to remember the Truth of who we are, who they are. And in the simplicity of this miraculous moment, we are remembering it for everyone.

Let us give thanks for this great, great Grace. That we can be of such humble service to all in the simplicity of our prayer.

Loving you, always and forever, in the eternal Now

Inspiration from Ramdesh

Sat Nam Global Sadhana Community,

"All human beings are also dream beings. Dreaming ties all mankind together.

Today's message from Kathy (below) was inspired by frogs, so I thought I would share my own frog adventure last night.  A huge rainstorm blew through and drenched us in rain, thunder and lightening.  As the storm lifted, my fiance Harnam ran in and shouted "Get up!  The pond flooded!  We have to save the polywogs!" And so we race out with jars and began scooping up what must have been over a hundred polywogs one at a time and carry them back to the safety of the pond.  What was extraordinary is how afraid they were of us, and how hard to fought to stay hidden and out of sight under blades of grades, beneath weeds, and in the cracks of the bricks.  Often we would have to spend several minutes trying to coax a particularly frightened one into the jar that would carry them to safety, and we were racing against time as the waters were receding and they need to live in water to survive. It became a spiritual journey for us. I imagined myself as a polywog, frightened of the world and of "what-ifs" as the angels above me attempted to help carry me to where I could thrive, thrashing and dashing away from the unknown, twisting back into the tiny spot that wasn't ideal, but at last was known.  Fear holds us back so much.  It held our ancestors back.  We never gave up on any of the polywogs.  We didn't throw down our jars and say, "Well you are just not worth helping!"  We stayed and held space for them, gently coaxing them into the jars of their liberation. We understood their fear, and tried to work more gently.  I would like to imagine the angels doing that for us.  And I would like to imagine us doing that for our ancestors who didn't always make the choices for good.  We hold space for them no matter how scared of the light they may have been.  We don't get frustrated by the choices they made.  We only hold space and offer a path to greater freedom. Now that the rains have passed,  I'm thrilled to report our pond is teaming with happy polywogs today.  I would like to imagine the sky is teaming with happy ancestors, too.

Here's our message from Kathy...

"I have been doing this meditation around or after sunset in a dark room. I love hearing the frogs chirping and I like to think that they are joining in and supporting me. Tonight a train went by, and sounded its horn. It is a very loud and not soothing sound. I realized that I could think "ugly sound" or "the conductor is supporting me in his own way".
When I changed my interpretation of the train whistle, it was magnificent.
I love these Global Sadhanas, thank you!

Mantra

Complete Mantra:
Guru Guru Wahe Guru, Guru Ram Das Guru

Language: Gurmukhi

Source: Dream with Guru Ram Das Ji

Author: Yogi Bhajan

Translation:
Guru - teacher or guide that brings one from the darkness to the light.
Wahe - exclamation of ecstacy like "WOW!"
Ram Das - literally translates as "God's Servant",
but also refers to Guru Ram Das, the Fourth Guru of the Sikhs

More Information:
This mantra was given to Yogi Bhajan by Guru Ram Das in His astral self. As Guru Ram Das, the fourth Guru of the Sikhs, was known for humility and healing abilities this mantra is also known for its healing qualities and for imparting humility to the one who chants it.

This mantra relates directly to healing and protective energy represented by Guru Ram Das. The mantra is comprised of two parts. The first part is a nirgun mantra (Guru Guru Wahe Guru). This projects the mind to the source of knowledge and ecstasy. The second part is a sirgun mantra (Guru Ram Das Guru). This means the wisdom that comes as a servant of the infinite. It is the mantra of humility. It reconnects the experience of the finite to infinity.
