Orangevale Bridge Closure Begins Today
A one-year rehabilitation project on the Historic Orangevale Avenue Bridge will begin today, allowing crews to make significant structural improvements on the century-old bridge that connects Folsom and Orangevale. Starting today, the Orangevale Avenue Bridge will be closed to motorists, cyclists and pedestrians for up to nine months. Detours to Greenback Lane will be provided during the closure and message signs have been installed to alert motorists about the closures.  The Orangevale Avenue Bridge is located on Orangevale Avenue between Placer Mine Road and American River Canyon Road. Approximately 1,000 vehicles cross this bridge daily. The construction will improve the lifespan of the bridge, and all structural elements will be replaced to preserve the bridge's historical value. Stay informed about closures and project updates at www.folsom.ca.us. For more information contact City of Folsom Associate Civil Engineer Brian Reed at [email protected]or call 916-837-9984.
