Our 2016 CSA season starts next week, with the first deliveries arriving in some locations on June 7.
Farm pick-up members: please log into your account and verify your pick-up day to make sure your calendar matches ours.
Home Delivery and Group Site members: please find your delivery zip code on this page on our blog, and determine your delivery day accordingly.
Group Site members: please remember that the zip code for your group site location may be different from your home zip code.
You-pick bonus for members this week is Two Quarts of Strawberries!
Reminders -- If you plan to stay at the farm for a while after picking, bring a cooler for your berries. And we ask you to please not eat your bonus in the field or on the wagon, because if non-members (who don't qualify for a you-pick bonus) see you eating, they're likely to follow your lead, and their berries need to be weighed and paid for before they're eaten.

We're pleased to continue our partnership with Georges Mill, a small farm near Lovettsville which has been in the Kroiz family for eight generations. Sam and Molly Kroiz make handcrafted cheeses with milk from their herd of 50 American Alpine diary goats.
"Great cheese starts with great milk," Molly says. "Our goats are on pasture all year, supplemented with high quality local hay as needed and a small amount of non-GMO whole grain. That delicious milk is then transformed into cheese by hand in small batches in our on-farm creamery.
With our 2016 cheese CSA you get delicious cheese delivered to Great Country Farms so you can pick it up with your vegetables each week! The CSA comes in two options: the Variety Share includes a weekly rotation of one of our seven cheeses, and our Fresh Chevre option which includes a rotation of our three flavors of fresh chevre."

Picture Farmer Films has organized an unusual multi-stage fund-raising event to help defray the costs of the documentary they're making about Holy Cross Abbey.
"On June 4 and 5, eminent regional artists will gather at the Holy Cross Abbey and paint outdoors from various vantage points on the property," their website explains. "Two weeks later an exhibit of works created during the outdoor painting weekend will take place, beginning with an opening reception at the Barns of Rose Hill on Saturday, June 18 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. All are invited to view the exhibit, meet artists, purchase paintings, and talk with the film producers."
Great chance to support local painters, local monks, and local farmers. Learn more here.
