Saturday, December 10; 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.
If you’ve ever felt like your spiritual path takes “two steps forward and one step back,” this day with author, pastor and retreat director Sharon Garlough Brown will nourish your spirit and connect you with others who feel the same.
The characters in her books, Sensible Shoes: A Story About the Spiritual Journey and Two Steps Forward: A Story of Persevering in Hope, are going through life experiences that we “get.” Sometimes things don’t go as planned. Sometimes old grief resurfaces when we least expect it. Sometimes things just fall apart. We all struggle with issues like perfectionism, anxiety, rejection, and grief, and we all can learn to open ourselves more honestly to God’s active presence in daily life.
This day will include presentations and time to integrate with quiet prayer and reflection on these themes and spiritual practices. It will be a welcome addition to your Advent season. Come to find a little place of peace. Bring your journal, and a friend!
