A Message from the Director

Well it's June 1st already! You know what that means...it's only 95 days until Cougar Football. It also means it's only 97 days until Labor Day. I tell the staff around Memorial Day, "The next time you look up it will be the 4th of July, the next time after that will Labor Day." It's truer every year.

We had 200 guests for the long Memorial Weekend. As schools wind down and people are busy, early June brings empty mid-weeks. We are busy getting ready for summer and are interviewing new staff every day, finishing projects, and generally bracing ourselves for the summer rush. I feel summer is when we shine as a staff. We get to see all our returning friends and this place really hums.

Thanks for all you gave (or tried to give) to the Seattle Foundations giveBIG event. What a mess! Sorry for the frustrating experience. I hope they get it cleared up for next year. Despite the tech failures, we still raised over $22,000! Thanks to everyone!

We had a great Annual Meeting on May 22nd. Thanks to all that attended. Sorry for the overly full stomachs on the ride home. You really only have yourselves to blame. HAHA.

The salmon is in, the grass is turning brown, and I don't recognize a quarter of our staff. I think summer is here already. Somebody tell the weatherman that and we will be set!

See you soon!
Chuck

A BIG Thank you to all who donated  to
Seabeck on  May 3rd during the  giveBIG

Seabeck Seafood Fest & Annual Meeting was a Huge Success

We had a group of about 80 guests who attended the Seafood Fest and Annual Meeting on May 22nd. When dinner was served there were ooh's and ahh's all over the dining room.

Dinner started with prawn cocktails and oysters on the half shell. Then the crab boil was served, loaded with crab, clams, mussels, shrimp, corn on the cob, andouille sausage and red potatoes. The meal ended with a delicious Strawberries  Devonshire for dessert.

Seabeck Mercantile Opens

The Seabeck Mercantile & Gift Shop opened on May 22nd during the Annual Meeting & Seafood Fest Dinner. If you want to buy items with the Seabeck logo on them, this is the place. There are fleece vests, sweatshirts, t-shirts, hats, water bottles, coffee mugs, and more...

The store will have limited hours during retreats and we can now take Visa and MasterCard for items purchased.

Seabeck Cinnamon Rolls are Back

Look for our special Seabeck Cinnamon Rolls this summer. We had a test kitchen this winter to see what recipe tasted the best and there was a winner.

Remember the huge mixer that was featured in the News & Views a couple months back? We will start using it soon for large batches so all our groups can enjoy them.

They will become another Seabeck favorite, second in line to Blintzes of course!

Yummy!!!
