We are delighted to announce that four of our children are graduating this spring:
- Messeret from Jefferson College with an Associate's in Vet Tech
- Darrin, Joy & Q from high school
Parkway UCC has been by our side and supported us and our children in so many ways. Come celebrate and accept our thanks to you June 5, 4-7p in the Youth rooms downstairs at PUCC.

Worship with us this Sunday!
|
One Family Worship at 10:00am with communion at our open table - ALL are invited. Our focus is an old story - Noah's Ark. It will come alive in new ways! We will hear from some of our youth about their 2015-16 Sunday School Mission Project. We'll also sing some great songs/hymns and think together about ways we can strengthen our faith and our church.
Our Meeting agenda includes a state of the church address from Mark Sableman, our outgoing President, brief reports about a few exciting things on our horizon, a brochure about the Sabbatical/Renewal Time (Sabbatical/Renewal 2016), the election of new Council and Commission members...and more!
It's Give-A-Meal Sunday
- please remember to bring gifts of non-perishable food items for hungry people in St Louis please keep in mind that kids are home for the summer and many of them are hungry because they do not have access to breakfast and lunch at school.

The choir consists of approximately middle school students
singing and sharing God's blessings with Emmaus clients and members of the Parkway UCC congregation. The choir's home base is the Brentwood United Methodist Church, Franklin, Tennessee.

There are several openings throughout the summer. See the signup sheet in the Gathering Space.
Summer Music During the summer months when the choir does not sing, we invite members, both adults and youth, to provide special instrumental or vocal music for the 9:30 service. If you would like to share your musical gifts with us over the summer, please speak with Barbara Raedeke or contact her at [email protected]. We are blessed with many musically talented members here at Parkway, and we hope they will make this important contribution to our worship!
 Road Trip to Elephant Rocks State Park
Sunday, June 12 | 10:00am carpool | 5:00pm return | Bring sack lunch
Calling all youth for a fun afternoon of picnicking, climbing, and enjoying this wonderful natural park. We welcome our new sixth graders to the Middle High group-please plan to join us!
Please bring a sack lunch (coolers provided). Drinks will be provided as well as snacks for the afternoon. After spending a couple hours hiking and exploring, we'll head back home. Please contact Barb Kuhlmann ([email protected]) to RSVP. We will probably need some parents to drive, so please let us know if you can help.
Our Business is Mission. How's Business?
Over the past few months Church Council, Tuesday Evening Dialogue (TED) and others at PUCC have read John Dorhauer's book Beyond Resistance: The Institutional Church Meets the Postmodern World. We have read it, prayed on it, and have discussed its implications to Parkway. And, we have discovered in our discussions the need to KEEP talking about how we as a congregation will ensure our church remains relevant in a postmodern culture.
In the late summer/early fall all Parkway members and friends are asked to continue this important discussion. Over the summer we ask you to read Dorhauer's Beyond Resistance to reach your own opinions. Books will be available for purchase in the church office, along with a few loaners from Council or TED participants! For those unable to read the book-fear not! A synopsis will be available as background at the June 5th congregational meeting and on-line.
Whether you have read the book or not-starting mid-August a series of one session, small group gatherings will be held in homes, at the coffee shop, at church to hear your thoughts and ideas.
How do you describe
the identity of PUCC? What changes are possible and necessary for PUCC in the postmodern culture? What are we not willing to change? What change can we accept? What is the future mission of PUCC? How do you talk about PUCC to others? What three words best describe PUCC's mission?
We hope that many, many of you will participate in these discussions of our identity and our mission.
