Third Thursday New London Art is a gallery and downtown walk
event designed to showcase the fantastic artistic resources of
New London. It will run the third Thursday of every month from
April to November at the Public Library of
New London,
providing a sense of community for attendees.
Artist: Edeltraud Huller
Talk 5:30 pm, Art Display 5:30-7:00 pm
Ms. Huller is influenced by the converging environments around her,
whether it be the richness of nature, the beauty created by endeavors of the human mind, or the architectural destruction
and
human wreckage of war.
Self taught, her works have been
exhibited for years in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York
City Galleries, including
the Delaware Fine Arts Museum gallery,
and in permanent collection at the New Britain Museum.
Her
works have entered collections worldwide.

With a beautiful wife (June Allyson) and one of the biggest songs in America, "Moonlight Serenade," Miller has it all. But at the onset of World War II, Miller enlists, giving up his fame and success to help entertain the troops stationed in Europe.

The Art of Sewing: Sewing Classes for Beginners
Wednesdays, June 8 and June 15
1:30 pm - 3:00 pm
Come to our three week series of classes to learn the basics of
the machine, including threading the bobbin, choosing seams, and adjusting tension. Once you feel comfortable with the machine, you
will learn how to make a small drawstring bag and other things.
Leave the class confident in using your machine
and with something to show for your hard work!

Meet WWF/WWE Legend and author
Bob Backlund

Author and wrestling legend
Bob Backlund will talk about his book
Backlund: From All-American Boy to Professional Wrestling's World Champion.
Robert Lee "Bob" Backlund is the former two-time World Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion, with an in-ring career that has spanned nearly 40 years. He has wrestled nearly every big name in
the sport, including Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, and Andre the Giant.
He was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame on April 6, 2013.
Backlund continues to make occasional appearances for the WWE, teaching amateur wrestling to children. He also enjoys life traveling the country as a much-loved motivational speaker.

Learn how to make a black and white comic strip, from start to
finish, with the amazingly talented illustrator

but be ready to perfect your drawing skills!
