"Nearly 15 million Americans provide unpaid care to a person living with Alzheimer's disease or another dementia." (Alzheimer's Association 2011 Facts & Figures)
Supporting Family Caregivers
Alzheimer's disease is often called a family disease because the chronic stress of watching a loved one slowly decline affects everyone. Family Caregiver Alliance suggests an effective treatment will, "...address the needs of the entire family. Caregivers must focus on their own needs, take time for their own health and get support and respite from caregiving regularly to be able to sustain their well-being during this caregiving journey. Emotional and practical support, counseling, resource information and educational programs about Alzheimer's disease all help a caregiver provide the best possible care for a loved one."

Caring for a loved one can be physically and emotionally challenging. Knowing what to do, what to expect, and on whom to depend, may help lighten the burden. Join current and future caregivers at Keiro's FREE Genki Conference: Caregiver's Edition on Saturday, June 11 in Pasadena.

Keiro collaborating organization,  Alzheimer's Greater Los Angeles , will present two breakout sessions at  Genki Conference: Caregiver's Edition :
