Barbara Corcoran Recently Told One of the People on Shark Tank, "You're Not an Entrepreneur"  

 

This young lady had developed a shipping box that was clearly better than her competition. She even got meetings with Lowe's and Home Depot and they were interested in her product.  

However, she didn't even write up the the orders because she didn't have the money to produce the product.

That's when Barbara Corcoran told her she didn't think she was a true entrepreneur and I agree.

True Entrepreneurs Are Crazy 

Real entrepreneurs make deals with no idea how they are going to finance them. They take big leaps and believe that a net will appear. They do things that other people think are crazy. They are lifetime learners. They invest in themselves regularly and without apology. They are willing to risk money, embarrassment and failure. Their lives are adventures and the worst thing is playing it safe. 

 

I'm Not Ready Yet 

People call me all the time and tell me they don't think they're ready to get sponsors. Well, neither was I.

When I first started getting funding from sponsors I was a micro-business working by myself from my kitchen table.

Now I mentor solo-entrepreneurs and let them know that they can get sponsors even if they're just starting out and I have plenty of success stories of people who grew their businesses and funded their dreams with sponsors.
