Author Talk with Erwin Chemerinsky, October 15The City of West Hollywood and PEN Center USA will present an author talk with Erwin Chemerinsky regarding his most recent book, The Case Against the Supreme Court. Chemerinsky is the founding Dean and Distinguished Professor of Law, and Raymond Pryke Professor of First Amendment Law, at UC Irvine School of Law, with a joint appointment in Political Science. He is the author of eight books.

Eclectic WeHo 3, A Reading of Short Plays, October 18
Join us as we celebrate Halloween early. Playwrights Terry McFadden and Thomas Misuraca present Something Wicked Funny This Way Comes, their latest offering of short plays that are so funny, it's scary. Based on the success of their previous two shows, we've brought them back again to either rattle or tickle our funny bones. Admission is free.

This Lovers & Madmen production takes an autumnal look at Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night's Dream. Staged Reading of She's History! A Galapalooza of Fabulous Females Who Make and Made History, October 19She's History! A Galapalooza of Fabulous Females Who Make and Made History is a play about women who make and made history. Written and directed by cultural herstorian, playwright, and actress Amy Simon, She's History! combines theater, history, multimedia, audience interaction, and good old-fashioned storytelling. It features performances by Rozie Bacchi, Jane Brucker, Mary MacVean, Susan Peahl, Clara Rodriguez, and Amy Simon.

Celebration Theatre: Burning Leaves by Tom Rowan, October 21Join Celebration Theatre and the City of West Hollywood on the third Tuesday of each month as we read brand new works celebrating the LGBTQ experience. In Burning Leaves by Tom Rowan, a gay actor moves from New York for a fresh start as a drama teacher in a Midwest high school. Soon after his arrival, the teacher must contend with a lonely divorcee and a gay teen - both of whom are attracted to him - as well as a self-centered "it girl."

West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval, October 31This year's West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval will take place on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard.
Each year, the City of West Hollywood hosts its Halloween Carnaval - one of the most unique Halloween gatherings in the world. With an estimated attendance of approximately 500,000 people, it is one of the region's largest events.
Staged over a one-mile stretch of Santa Monica Boulevard/Historic Route 66, Halloween Carnaval will feature six stages of exceptional entertainment featuring performance artists, DJs, musical performers, dancers, contortionists, and aerialists who entertain wildly dressed crowds for a five-hour one-of-a-kind festival.
Halloween Carnaval was launched in 1987 and is rooted in the foundation of the City of West Hollywood's diverse culture and community. The event has grown year-by-year into an annual gathering of phenomenal costumes, entertainment, culture, and self-expression with a myriad of observers, revelers, exhibitionists, and performers.
