Dear CNP Supporters,

The Center for Nonprofits at the United Way of Greater Chattanooga is excited to announce some new developments within our organization.

Since its inception in 1999, the CNP has provided Greater Chattanooga's nonprofit agencies with the resources to build capacity. The mission of the CNP is to help nonprofits fulfill their missions efficiently and effectively.

The CNP is pleased to introduce our new team.  During this transition, we will ensure that our service to the nonprofit community continues seamlessly. In the next few months, we welcome feedback about the resources currently provided and seek suggestions for enhancing our services.  Please visit the CNP website for our contact information.  We would love to hear from you!

Sincerely,

The United Way of Greater Chattanooga's Center for Nonprofits

Upcoming CNP Classes & Events

Volunteer Management: Orienting & Training Volunteers

August 5; 9am-12pm

The best volunteer in the world will fail without proper orientation and training. Volunteers must be equipped to do their job successfully. This course will teach you how to identify specific training needs, design a training program based on those needs, deliver an effective training event and assess and refine the training based on feedback. This course will show you how you can build on the volunteer's experience to make the training interactive and engaging.

Trends & Issues - Crowdsourcing: Best Practices for Using Causeway to Build Support

August 6; 11:30am-1pm

Join us over lunch for a 'how-to' session with Chattanooga's own, Causeway.org. This local crowd sourcing platform can help your organization raise funds, volunteer and other resources for your cause. Presented by Heather Ewalt and Abby Garrison.

The Tennessee Valley Institute for Nonprofit Excellence

August 27; 8am-4pm

TVI is a day-long conference designed to build capacity and effectiveness by exploring trends and topics facing nonprofits. For more information, contact kateskonberg@cnpchatt.org.

Grant Opportunities
  • The Melinda Gray Ardia Environmental Foundation was founded in 1996 to continue the work of Melinda Gray Ardia. To that end, the foundation's grant program is designed to empower and encourage students to become involved in solving environmental and social problems, promote thoughtful and appropriate analysis and understanding of the natural world, and make informed decisions through the emphasis and application of basic ecological principles.
  • The National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) is seeking applicants for its Museums, Libraries, and Cultural Organizations grant program. This opportunity will fund museums, libraries, historic places, and other organizations that produce public programs in the humanities.
