Dear Friends,
Yesterday I had the joy of participating in our preschool’s annual Butterfly Release Celebration.  In some ways it is the same celebration that has taken place every year since I arrived in 2011 with the exception of some jammin’ bagpipes played by our very own David Brinson.  You should have seen those butterflies doing that Scottish jig as they “Flew up in the sky so high!”
The other main difference of course is the young children who are about to leave the preschool, spread their little wings, and fly on to their next adventure in kindergarten.  This time of year reminds us of the transitions that our children make.  It may remind us of our own transitions.  But it also reminds us of transformation.  The butterfly is transformed and that is what enables it to fly.  The same thing can happen in us.
Pentecost is a season of transformation.  Are you open to how the Holy Spirit is working in you?  Are you open to where the Spirit may be leading you and members of your family? Do you trust what you see God doing?  Journey Sunday (May 22) may be more about transitions in our life, but Pentecost is about transformation.  Make sure you are open and available when the wind of God’s Spirit blows. Spread your wings and see where it takes you.

To God be the Glory!

Robert

Weekend at Fellowship Point! Saturday play and Sunday worship!

Join us at Fellowship Point on Lake Norman (212 Greyfriars Road, Mooresville, NC 28117) for fun on Saturday -games and chill time during the day/dinner and campfire in the evening.  Join us for worship on Sunday morning at 10 a.m.  Wear RED for Pentecost!  There is only one service at DCPC at 8:30 a.m. and no Sunday school.  Hope you can join us!

Journey Sunday – May 22nd

On May 22nd there is 1 Worship Service at 11 a.m. and then our annual spring picnic.  Join us that day for Journey Sunday as we celebrate the journeys that God is taking us on.  Whether we are celebrating 3rd graders receiving their gift bibles, senior’s graduation, or people heading on mission trips, we know that God is with us, guiding and protecting us by the power of the Holy Spirit.  One more thing - there is only one Sunday school hour at 9:45 that day.

The WILDCAT Build Continues…and we need YOU!

SAVE THE DATE – GLEANING WITH Society of St. Andrew

June 25th we hope our DCPC families will join us to glean in the fields on a nearby farm to gather leftover produce for those who are hungry.  This is a great activity and mission opportunity.  Save the date and look for more information!  If you would like to learn more about The Society of St. Andrew in North Carolina, go to http://endhunger.org/north-carolina/.

It is a new year and I have re-set the prayer list.  If there are concerns or joys that you would like to have listed here please email me at ralexander@dcpc.org so that we might keep one another in prayer.
