How Grounding in the Present Can Help Enrich the Future

Dr. Autera discusses the utility of fostering mindful awareness, or present moment-focus, and self-compassion in improving quality of life. She provides a basic introduction to the practice of cultivating non-judgmental awareness and a compassionate stance toward the self, as well as the associated positive outcomes. Dr. Autera also reviewed specific mindfulness and self-compassion exercises.

In this webinar, Dr. Martinez will discuss the differences between traditional talk psychotherapy and play therapy. She will review some of the history and theories of play therapy, and discuss how and when play therapy might be beneficial to children, adolescents, and even adults. Dr. Martinez will discuss credentials that play therapists might hold, as well as how someone might locate play therapists if they were interested in doing so.
