Our model sedorim were both meaningful and practical. A lot of preparation went into them and it showed.
At the Kindergarten through Grade 9 Seder we had amazing performances from all grades as follows:
Kindergarten: Mah Nishtana
Grade 1: Mah Nishtana in many languages
Grade 2: Order of the Seder
Grade 3: Four Sons acted out
Grade 4: Digital Haggadah with pictures of the students in it.
Grade 5: Bag of Plagues for every student
Grade 6-8 Girls: Newscast from Egypt
Grade 6-9 Boys: Divrei Torah on the Haggadah
Akiva Boys Choir: Vehi Sheamda
Thank you so much to Mrs. Zuli Mashiah for preparing all the yummy seder foods including her world famous Matzah Ball soup
Thank you to Morah Miller, Rabbi Rutstein, Rabbi Goldenberg and Morah Marina for preparing the students for the model seder and for Pesach.
Thank you to Mrs. Hanit Jacobs and Mrs. Aviva Cheuk for volunteering to help prepare, serve, and clean up at the seder.
Our Pre-School Model Seder was interactive with children, parents and grandparents coming together to sing, dance and hear the story of Yetziat mitzrayim. Thank you to Morah Miller, Morah Corinne, Morah Michaela, Morah Ana and Morah Tanya for a great experience.

Thank you so much to Morah Orly for preparing a meaningful Yom Hashoah assembly. We began with lighting a candle and a memorial prayer for the victims of the holocaust. Grade 6-8 Girls presented a biography of Anna Frank and we watched a video of Anna Frank's step sister speaking about her hope for a brighter future.
Rabbi Rutstein concluded the assembly leading us in the singing of Ani Mamin and Hatikvah. Students left the gym looking at pictures of the life of Anna Frank.

On Tuesday, April 19th, students in Grades 6-9 traveled to the Calgary Courts to Judge Lipton's courtroom to argue the case of Jones V. Smith before the judge. It was amazing learning experience as the students acted the roles of plaintiff, defendant, lawyers and witnesses. The judge was very impressed by the preparedness of the students and commented that he noticed a couple future lawyers in them.
Thank you to Rabbi Goldenberg, Rabbi Rutstein and Mr. William Katz for preparing the students for the trial.

On Thursday, May 12, we will be celebrating Yom Haatzmaut from 9:30 - 11:30. Students should come to school dressed in blue and white. Parents are invited to join us.
