Grandparents Day - Friday, May 6
Grandparents Day is an annual Evansville Day School tradition, and your child's grandparents should have received a special invitation. This exciting day will begin at 10:45 am. Grandparents are requested to go straight to the gym when they arrive at EDS. The teachers will walk the children to the gym for a musical program. At the conclusion, children will be dismissed to their grandparents by grade level for lunch.

It is a tradition that children bring lunch for both themselves and their grandparents to share. After lunch, children may bring their grandparents to the book fair, do a classroom tour, and/or browse through the Young Author's Book display.

Driven to Give
Lincoln will be on Day School's campus Saturday, April 30 from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm offering test drives of their vehicles. For each test drive, Lincoln will donate $20 to Friends of EDS. This event raises up to $8000 for us, and we would appreciate your participation!

Even if you cannot attend that day, you can sign up online, and $20 will still be donated to the school.

Friends of EDS
Friends' final meeting of the year will be on Friday, May 6 at 8:05 am.  This will also be our Volunteer Breakfast for the EDS community as a thank you for a great year. We invite everyone to mark your calendars and plan to join us that morning!

New! EDS Wins Grand Purchase Prize at Arts Council Show
Congratulations to Betsy Daily and her students who created Evansville Day School's "The Beauty of Nature" mural as a submission for the Arts Council's 2016 Another's Treasure exhibit. The piece took the grand purchase prize of $1000 during the reception on Friday, April 22! It is now owned by Alcoa. There were 111 submissions for the contest, and 35 of those were selected to be on display for the exhibit. Submissions came from several states and had to be at least 75% recycled materials. Outstanding work, Day School!

New! 4th Grade Giving Project Highlight
Rosemary Alcock, class of 2024, chose the Challenger Division as the recipient of her 4th Grade Giving Project donations. Each student is given $10 by their teacher, Megan Collins, and encouraged to multiply that amount to donate to the student's favorite charitable organization. Click the button below to watch this amazing video as Rosemary presents her donation, and find out how much she was able to give!

The Challenger Division allows children with special needs to play baseball. The participants are paired with a buddy who assists in running, batting or throwing a ball if needed.

New! EDS Dinner Theatre
Evansville Day School Dinner Theatre presents "Bad Ideas for Bad Television Shows" by Don Zolidis on Friday, May 6 at 7:00 pm in the Upper School Commons. Tickets are $10 each and include dinner from Fazoli's. Tickets can be purchased at lunch or after school in the US Commons.
