Volunteer call-out: PEER MENTOR PROGRAM

BIST is looking for survivors and family members of survivors who are interested in becoming peer mentor volunteers! We're especially looking for spouses and family members of brain injury survivors.

If you think you have it in you to offer telephone support to a fellow ABI survivor (or family member of a survivor) please let us know!

Commitment involves: a telephone interview, a criminal records check and training. Once you're set up with a partner, mentoring is about an hour a week over the phone. Survivors are matched up with survivors and family members are matched up with family members. We conduct extensive interviews to ensure that mentors and partners are a suitable match, and we cover the cost of the criminal records check.
