Street Level Photo Exhibition by Tangled Arts & Disability

 

Please join the professors and students of the Disability Studies program at King's in welcoming this thought-provoking Photo Exhibit by nine Canadian Artists with disabilities, curated by the award-winning Photographer, Vincenzo Pietropaolo for Tangled Art & Disability. Come and hear about the ideas behind the project and their artistic work. ASL Interpreters & Attendant Care generously provided by the Dean of Students. All welcome. 


Exhibit: Spriet Learning Commons, Student Life Centre from October 27th (12 noon) until November 4th (12 noon).

November 5th - Last day to drop a first-term half course

November 30th - Last day to drop a full-year course

January 13th - Last day to add a second-term half course

March 7th - Last day to drop a second-term half course

 

Web registration on the Student Centre is currently open for students to add/drop/swap second term half courses only. If you would like to drop a first-term or full-year course, you must come to the Academic Dean's Office to submit a paper add/drop form.

 

If you're unsure about dropping a course, please read the following: To Drop or Not to Drop.  Additionally, you are welcome to come to drop-in hours to discuss the issue with an Academic Counsellor.

 

Please inquire with Student Financial Services regarding any financial implications of adding/dropping courses.

Student Finances Update


 

Students with Prior OSAP Loans

If you have previously received OSAP funding and have not had funding released to you for the current academic year, you must complete a Continuation of Interest Free Status Form at the Student Financial Services Office to ensure that your previous loans are put into interest and payment free status. This form can only be completed for those students who are registered full-time, according to OSAP standards (60% course load or 40% for students with PD).

 

This form must be completed by October 28th, 2014 in order to reverse any interest that has accumulated from last May to present. If you have any questions or to complete the form please come to Student Financial Services, Wemple 144, with your SIN card and valid Government Issued Photo I.D. Office hours are Monday to Friday 9am - 3:30pm.

Names Instead of Numbers

King's is hosting the International Travelling Exhibition Names Instead of Numbers, a collection of biographies of former prisoners from across Europe who were deported to Dachau concentration camp between 1933 and 1945. The exhibition features 20 biographies from the Dachau Remembrance Book project, which was compiled by students and researchers on the basis of interviews with camp survivors and their relatives. The display banners include original documents and pictures.

United Way StairClimb


The King's Community will be participating in the United Way StairClimb on November 6th at One London Place.


There are three climb times: 

Student Climb: 6:30am - 8:30am

Lunch Climb: 11:30am - 1:30pm *limited space available

General Climb: 2pm - 7pm

 

You can climb with a team or climb on your own. Teams should appoint a Captain and register online. There is no registration fee, but all participants must collect and submit a minimum pledge:

Adults - $40 per climber

Youth under the age of 18 - $20 per climber
