"An Example of Commitment & Service": Honoring God's Servant
Wednesday, July 23

The Inviter

Acts 8:30-31

Philip ran up and heard him reading Isaiah the prophet, and said, "Do you understand what you are reading?" And he said, "Well, how could I, unless someone guides me?" And he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.

The Worship Leader

Jeremiah 15:16

Your words were found, and I ate them, And Your word was to me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; For I am called by Your name, O Lord God of hosts.

The Intercessor

Ephesians 6:18

...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints

The Preacher & Teacher

Acts 20:28

Therefore take heed to yourselves and to all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God[a] which He purchased with His own blood.

Notes from Sunday's Sermon
"THE FAITH FACTOR" (Matthew 14:22-31)

Answering the call of God is a call to conflict, but it's also a call to leave your comfort zone. When the disciples cried in the night, Jesus came to them walking on the water and said, "Don't be scared; it's Me!" And the Bible says that they thought He was a ghost, but Peter said, "Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water." And isn't it interesting that you can have twelve people in the same situation, fighting against the same hellish problem, and only one person is able to recognize Jesus.

Watch this: Everybody thought Jesus was a ghost, and out of all twelve of them, Peter was the only one who recognized that it was the Lord. And that's why you shouldn't get upset when people don't see what you see in the spirit. You shouldn't get frustrated when people can't discern what seems obvious to you, because they're looking through the lens of fear, but you're looking through the lens of faith. So what they call a ghost, you call a vision. What they see as a scary obstacle, you see as a sacred opportunity.

30/15 Prayer Window
MTC Members, Faith-Partners, and Friends:

I would like to ask you to join me in prayer for the next 30-days (started July 7) for 15 minutes, for our church, its leaders, and for our outreach ministry.

Over thirty years, I have been ministering in the furnace of trials and tests, and today I call upon people of faith and good will to pray for and with me. The Apostle Paul made a request of the church to pray for him so that Gospel might be preached. He said,

"Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may run swiftly and be glorified, just as it is with you, and that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men; for not all have faith" (2 Thessalonians 3:1-2).

If you choose to join us in prayer, please send your e-mail address to: mtc.admin@gmail.com so that I can add you to our prayer group. For the next 30-days I will be sending you a Scripture and short message for thoughtful meditation for that day.

Thank you again for joining me as we, together, advance His Kingdom.

A Mission-Driven Church

Our Mission...
The Memorial Tabernacle Church has come together by the Holy Spirit for the specific purpose of preaching and teaching the word of God, (the Bible), and about Jesus Christ, God's son, and to proclaim the gospel of the Kingdom of God to the North Oakland Community and its environs; to bring healing to the brokenhearted and deliverance to the oppressed.

Our Foundation...
Fellowship "And let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more, as you see the day drawing near." (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Prayer "Do not fret or have any anxiety about anything, but in every circumstance and in everything, by prayer and petition (definite requests), with thanksgiving, continue to make your wants known to God."

(Philippians 4:6)

" Worship Let us therefore, receiving a kingdom that is firm and stable and cannot be shaken, offer to God pleasing service and acceptable worship, with modesty and pious care and godly fear and awe."

(Hebrews 12: 28
