How can communities understand all the factors that contribute to their health? The answer is clear: we need a better approach to collecting, sharing and using health data, one that includes sectors beyond health care. Our latest blog outlines why multi-sector data sharing is important, what we know about current efforts, and how the All In network is working to advance the field.

This month, we're featuring two multi-sector data sharing projects working to improve health outcomes in rural areas in Minnesota.  

Through DASH, the White Earth Reservation Tribal Council is expanding implementation of WECARE, a care coordination database system that provides an efficient and effective way to link Native American families to the services they need. The project is improving care coordination by enabling connections between primary care, home health, education, early childhood programs, and human services.

• Health Datapalooza : May 8-11, 2016 in Washington, DC -  This  national conference is focused on liberating health data, and bringing together the companies, startups, academics, government agencies, and individuals with the newest and most innovative and effective uses of health data to improve patient outcomes.

• NNHPI Annual Conference : May 17-19 in New Orleans, LA -  This is the only national meeting that supports and highlights the work of the nation's public health institutes. NNPHI members lead conference programming that explores fresh concepts and strategies for supporting healthy communities at the local, state, and federal levels.

• Practical Playbook National Meeting : May 22-24 in Bethesda, MD -  By bringing together key stakeholders from across sectors, this meeting will help to catalyze a national movement, accelerate collaborations by fostering skill development, and facilitate the exchange of ideas to drive population health improvement.
