REGISTRATION NOW OPEN FOR CANUCKS JUNIOR GOLF WEEK
Back by popular demand, the PGA of BC is proud to once again partner with the Vancouver Canucks and Odlum Brown Limited to bring Canucks Junior Golf Week to communities across British Columbia. 
 
The events will run during the week of July 4-11 at over 40 facilities throughout the province.  The cost for a one day camp is only $20 (plus GST) and includes equipment rental (if required), facility fees and certified golf instruction.  
Members hosting Canucks Junior Golf Week camps at their facilities are encouraged to share this information with their own members and community partners. If you have ideas on how to further promote this program in your community, please contact PGA of BC Communications and Marketing Manager Katrina Owens at katrina@pgabc.org.

2016 PGA OF BC BUYING SHOW REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Registration for this year's Buying Show is now open, with early registration concluding on June 30th (please note: extensions will not be granted). We are proud to continue to offer affixed booth rates from 2013 making it one of the most affordable shows in Canada, with 10'x10's starting at only $1,150 for Association Sponsors and members of the CGIA.

1 WEEK LEFT FOR EARLY REGISTRATION FOR TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS
With the early registration fee in effect until May 9, members interested in playing in this year's Tournament of Champions at Okanagan Golf Club (Quail Course) are encouraged to register as soon as possible.

This year's event will be held Monday, May 30, with practice rounds available on Sunday, May 29. Call the golf shop at the Okanagan Golf Club to reserve your time at  (250)765-5955.

2 WEEKS LEFT FOR EARLY REGISTRATION FOR ASSISTANTS' AND SENIORS' CHAMPIONSHIPS
Taking place June 6 - 7, 2016, at Kamloops Golf & Country Club, those interested in playing in the PGA of BC Assistants' or Seniors' Championships are encouraged to register before May 16 to receive early registration savings.

Practice round can be booked by calling the Golf Shop at (250) 376-3231. Local players are encouraged to play their practice round in advance of June 5. For out of town players, tee times have been blocked off beginning at 11:30am on Sunday, June 5th, 2016.

REGISTER NOW FOR THE 11TH ANNUAL GOLFATHON FOR ALS  golfathonforals
Now in its 11th year, the PGA of BC is proud to partner with the ALS Society of BC for the Golfathon for ALS, where PGA of BC members play golf from sunrise to sunset, in honour of lending their muscles to those who have lost theirs to the deadly disease.

REGISTER NOW FOR 2016 GOLFBC CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIER
On Monday, June 6, the 2016 GolfBC Championship Qualifier will be held at The Okanagan Golf Club - Quail Course. A total of ten (10) exemptions into the inaugural GolfBC Championship, June 6 - 12, 2016 at Gallagher's Canyon Golf & Country Club, will be available.

PGA OF CANADA MEMBERSHIP APPLICATION DEADLINE IS JUNE 1
A friendly reminder that the annual Application deadline for prospective members to join the PGA of Canada in 2016 closes on Monday June 1st.
British Columbia boasts one of the most comprehensive Playing Ability Test schedules, with a variety of opportunities for men and women throughout the province.
All interested individuals are encouraged to visit the PGA of Canada's application website to review all details of the application process by clicking here.
CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Gordy Scutt (Olympic View Golf Course) for claiming first place at the VIPT's first major of the season last weekend at the Arbutus Ridge Open with rounds of 70-64. Finishing in solo second was Darren Griff (Morningstar Golf Club) who shot 74-68.

Meanwhile in the Lower Mainland, the second major of the Srixon Tour was held Monday at Morgan Creek Golf Course. Bryn Parry (Point Grey Golf & Country Club) and Matt Palsenbarg (Northview Golf & Country Club) finished with co-medalist honours, each shooting 69 to take home $700 first place cheques.

Congratulations also goes out to Jamie Stevens (Kelowna Golf & Country Club) who won a three-way playoff between himself, Shane Pugliese (Tower Ranch Golf Course), and Finlay Young (The Harvest Golf Club) at the Interior PGA's April 18 event at Kelowna Golf & Country Club. The trio each shot 69 -with Stevens taking home the $500 champion cheque.
