Tips From Former Smokers

The CDC's Tips Campaign profiles real people, not actors, who live with serious long-term health effects from smoking and exposure to secondhand smoke. This year's ads feature seven people's stories, including Wisconsin Women's Health Foundation staff member, Amanda Brenden.

Amanda quit smoking with the help of First Breath and now her journey has come full circle. Amanda works for the WWHF as a Health Educator and Trainer, providing smoking cessation education and support to postpartum women and training prenatal care providers on smoking cessation strategies.

Amanda has shown tremendous courage in sharing her story, please take a moment to watch and share Amanda's powerful videos.

Regional Practice Sessions

This year local experts will share information and research on the science of addiction. We've changed the format of the provider practice. Instead of role playing, we'll be using video examples of counseling sessions to critique and provide feedback on, allowing the group to discuss how they handle resistant clients and challenging situations.
