Yeeehaw, It's Farmers Market Time
Well, the Chamber Time Warp is once again at play because somehow the calendar zoomed from November to May and suddenly the farmers market season is upon us!

This Saturday, May 7, the Midland Area Farmers Market begins again, and this time with some new and exciting changes. As is custom, if you want to get the best goods (and parking!), you'll definitely need to be the early bird! Come this Saturday and get something beautiful for Mother's Day. Check out the exciting changes in store for the 2016 season:

- We're open until 1 p.m.! After many requests from shoppers, we have made the decision to stay open until 1 p.m. to allow more folks access to the market. Especially on Wednesdays, we hope you'll bring your co-workers and come down for a lunch at the market.

- More space for shopping. In an effort to provide some relief to our busiest day, Saturday, we will be closing the parking lot adjacent to the market on Saturdays in June, July and August. This will allow shoppers to have more space to browse the market and provide some much needed seating for folks to sit down and visit with friends.

- No pets. Okay, so this one isn't really a change, but we do want to highlight it. While we love little Fido and Fluffy, they are not allowed at the market for many reasons. We encourage you to leave them at home so they don't get stuck in a hot car. You might even find a great treat to take home to them.

- Vendors, vendors, vendors! We changed our process a bit of how we run things internally for the market. All vendors now need to apply for a space at our market. Unfortunately, we do not have enough room for all those interested, but have worked hard to keep the great diversity that shoppers have come to expect. Most vendors have returned from last year; they just may be in a different spot than you're used to. If you're in doubt, please contact our Market Master, Stephanie, and she'll help you locate who you're looking for.

We are looking forward to another record-breaking year of great fruit, veggies, baked goods, flowers, plants, cheese, honey, maple syrup...and so much more! We hope to see you at market every Wednesday and Saturday from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m.
