Signals & Receptors

 

We naturally make things more complicated then they need to be. We want to input all of these variables and circumstances into our everyday life that really don't belong there, adding complexity to basic ideas. In reality, results are gained through a simple and precise premise, signals and receptors. 

 

Everything we do to our body, when broken down to its core, is sending signals to the body and allowing the receptors to accept that information and react. If you send the right signals and you send them often enough, your body will evolve in the direction you are guiding it. If you are not sending the right signals or not sending them on  a consistent basis, the body will revert back to standard. In other words, don't expect results if you don't plan on putting in the work! Don't get me wrong, there are still so much more to the equation of getting healthier but if you really break it down to its simplest form, it's all about signals and receptors.

July Circuit Training Class Schedule 
 

 

We will be continuing our Summer class series with classes on Wednesday at 7:30am and Saturday at 8:00am. The Friday circuit training class will be taking a temporary hiatus and there will be no class on Fridays until the Summer is over. If you purchased a set of classes for the summer, we are extending the deadline to use those classes until the end of July. If you do not already have a set, you can still buy 5 classes for $110 or a single class each time you attend.

Recipe of the Month
4th of July Dessert
Gluten-Free Brownie & Berries Dessert Pizza

Ingredients
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Gluten Free brownie mix 
  • Butter and eggs called for on brownie mix box
  • 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • cups sliced fresh strawberries
  • cup fresh blueberries
  • cup fresh raspberries
  • 1/2 cup apple jelly
Directions
  • Heat oven to 350�F (or 325�F for dark or nonstick pan). Grease bottom only of 12-inch pizza pan with cooking spray or shortening.
  • In large bowl, stir brownie mix, butter and eggs until well blended. Spread in pan.
  • Bake 18 to 20 minutes or until toothpick inserted 2 inches from side of pan comes out clean or almost clean. Cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • In small bowl, beat cream cheese, sugar and vanilla with electric mixer on medium speed until smooth. Spread mixture evenly over brownie base. Arrange berries over cream cheese mixture. Stir jelly until smooth; brush over berries. Refrigerate about 1 hour or until chilled. Cut into wedges. Store covered in refrigerator.

of the Month:
Jennifer Lumley

 

Jennifer Lumley kicks some serious butt. Since starting at Workout 32789, she has proven to be one of the hardest workers here, giving each and every workout everything she has and making every second count. In just a short time, she has improved by leaps and bounds, and continues to get better every time she steps through our doors. 

However, it's not just her work ethic that made her Power Performer of the Month, it's her personality as well. Jennifer brings an upbeat persona and charisma to all of her workouts and spreads it to everyone she's around. Her positivity and kind spirit make her a welcome addition to Workout 32789, and we look forward to seeing her around for a long time.
