IRRIGATION SEASON BEGINS

It has been a typical, variable weather spring with 2 warm/dry stretches. Both were followed by rain so irrigation need has not been too severe but we have been sporadically irrigating most properties due to these dry stretches. As we move forward into late spring, the dry stretches will extend and the irrigation need will grow. The forecast below, through the next week, indicates very little rain and quite warm temperatures, thus irrigation will be operating on most properties.

We begin irrigating most years by the beginning of May. As Seen below, May irrigation need is quite variable but consistent.

As always, we monitor irrigation and adjust it as the forecast changes. Many of the sites we maintain now have Weather Based Irrigation which makes these adjustments automatically. This is always more quick and accurate making these adjustments which has proven to save significant irrigation water.
