JP Centre/South Main Streets is proud to announce our Screen on the Green series this summer!
We have been working nonstop adding to our First Thursday Art Walk and realized that there is so much more than we want to do for you! Not only will you find Screen on the Green on First Thursday in July, August, and September, but we are hosting them on the THIRD Thursday of those months, too! We are so excited to be hosting the movies at the Loring Greenough House located at 12 South Street in Jamaica Plain! Movies will start at dusk around 8 PM so we ask that you arrive 15-30 minutes before. Rain locations will be announced. This is the first time we have done something like this, and we are so excited to make this a summer to remember! Remember that the First Thursday Art Walk is brought to you by donations. We couldn't resist. Come kick off our series of movies with everybody's new favorite, Frozen!

A film that needs no explaining. Come out for our July First Thursday Art Walk and watch Princess Ariel on her infamous adventure to the Human world with her fish friend Flounder, and everyone's favorite crustacean, Sebastian.

Cool Runnings
"One dream. Four Jamaicans. Twenty below zero."
We found the title appealing considering where we live -- Jamaica Plain. Really this is just a great film and we wanted an excuse to watch it! Come out for this fantastic sports film on July 17th!

Casablanca
Fiftieth anniversary print (1992) of classic World War II story, starring Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, Paul Henreid, Claude Rains et al, looks terrific in glorious black and white. A half century later, it still is a sublimely romantic, soul-satisfying experience.

A "behind the scenes" look into the highly competitive and cut-throat world of dog-shows through the eyes of a group of ruthless dog owners including: yuppies Hamilton and Meg Swan and their neurotic weimaraner"Beatrice"; mild-mannered menswear salesman Gerry and Cookie Fleck, whose Norwich terrier's registered name is "Champion Thank You Neil Sedaka"; fly-fishing shop owner Harlan Pepper and his beloved bloodhound "Hubert"; New Yorker Scott Donlon and his longtime hairdresser partner, Stefan Vanderhoof, who anticipate the crown for their pampered shih tzus "Miss Agnes" and "Tyrone"; and the champion poodle "Rhapsody in White" who might just snare the title for the third year running.

The Fifth Element
Good and evil battle for the future of 23rd century Earth in this visually striking big-budget science fiction epic. In the movie's prologue, which is set in 1914, scientists gather in Egypt at the site of an event that transpired centuries earlier. Aliens, it seemed, arrived to collect four stones representing the four basic elements (earth, air, fire and water) - warning their human contacts that the objects were no longer safe on Earth. A few hundred years later (in the 23rd century), a huge ball of molten lava and flame is hurtling toward Earth, and scientist-holy man Victor Cornelius (Ian Holm) declares that in order to prevent it from destroying the planet, the same four elemental stones must be combined with the fifth element, as embodied by a visitor from another world named Leeloo (Milla Jovovich).

The Royal Tennenbaums
Royal Tenenbaum (Gene Hackman) was a successful attorney who had three children with his wife Etheline (Anjelica Huston), an archaeologist. Each of the Tenenbaum kids was a precocious genius: Chas (Ben Stiller) made a killing as a child investor. Richie (Luke Wilson) was a junior tennis champ and three-time U.S. Nationals winner. The adopted Margot (Gwyneth Paltrow) was a playwright who won a 50,000-dollar Braverman Grant in the ninth grade. When Royal abruptly left his family, however, it was the beginning of two decades of betrayal and failure that would scar the Tenenbaums for life. Their past resentments are bitterly held against Royal when he suddenly reappears, claiming to have six weeks to live and a desire to reconnect with his family.
