Looking for ways to cheer on the home team this May? There are plenty of chances to support local athletes in Durham Region!
 
The Canadian High School Ultimate Championships taking place May 14 and 15 are sure to offer high-flying excitement. A special good luck goes out to Bowmanville High School and Durham United teams who are both competing in the tournament. For more details, including an event schedule, click here.
 
The Special Olympics Ontario Provincial High School Championships take place from June 1 to 3, and volunteers are needed! For more information on how to become a volunteer, click here

The Rotary Club of Whitby's Gourmet Food Truck Frenzy is revving up for its annual celebration of curbside cuisine taking place on May 14 and 15 at Iroquois Park in Whitby.
 
Durham West Blues Fest returns to Pickering on May 28 for its third year to promote and celebrate the blues music genre, and visual arts within a fully accessible community festival.
 
Enjoy the start of wine touring season with the Honey Bee Orchard Blossom Walk at Archibald Orchards & Estate Winery on May 21.

NEED FOR SPEED
Enjoy the thrill of the chase this May on the marathon trail or kick-off the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park's season on the tarmac. Either way you're sure to feel the ferocious speed in Durham Region.
 
The Castrol Victoria Day SpeedFest Weekend will get Canadian Tire Motorsport Park's racing season underway, May 20 to 22, with the roaring stock cars of the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, as well as all classes of the Pirelli World Challenge Championship, highlighting the unofficial kick-off to the summer season.
 
Whitby International North's (WIN) seventh annual WIN Marathon is now open for registration! The run takes place at Heydenshore Pavilion in Whitby on May 22. There are a variety of levels ranging from a full marathon to a five kilometre walk. For more details, and to register, click here.
